I spent the last two days tearing everything apart looking for my schedule book. When you have multiple cases with countless things to do on each case -- and that's not counting the home visits -- those books are necessary. I was given a new one today, after tearing apart my apartment, my car, and my work desk. What happens when I get home? The cats had thrown a party, and in doing so had uncovered my schedule book...wherever they had hidden it. Wha?

Work has kept me on the road a lot lately. I have six training days this month and several court days, and when you have a court day, you pretty much have to prepare to plan nothing else for that day. That leaves me with very few days to get a month's worth of work in. Writing has occurred on lunch breaks and between visits, but I'm usually too tired by the time I get home to actually type them up.

Missy is growling behind me. *sighs* I love Calypso, but she is the master of "I'm not touching you."

I'm also getting subpoenaed for a criminal trial. For a case (and client) I only received relatively recently. Reviewing the records is going to kill even more of my month. Eep.

Four days of training next week. I'm taking notebooks. Wish me luck.

This is my mental Harry Dresden song...just so you know. :)

There are certain things I do before I leave the office for the weekend. I had court today, and even though it was scheduled for first thing in the morning and it was supposed to be a short hearing, I did everything yesterday that I usually do Friday. It was for the best. There were some...complications involving attorneys that lasted until after lunch. Then I had to do more infant transportation and the like.

By the time I got home, I said fuck it and splurged on pizza and salad. I slightly regretted the salad. Wasn't worth the money. I've discovered few places where it's worth it to buy salad.

I've also discovered few places that are good for cheesesteak pizza. Actually, only one. And it's back in my hometown. Fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuu...

I planned on trying to actually accomplish things tonight. I do not see it happening. I think I'm going to go curl up with a book instead. Tomorrow...things will be accomplished tomorrow...yesh.

So this week was supposed to be easy as compared to last week. Instead, I found my runaway sixteen-year-old client, complete with her newborn son. Everything suddenly became very complicated, complicated enough for the judge to visibly want to bash her head against something. I spent a full 8 hours in court, and that wasn't counting the transporting of the child. That was the longest I've spent alone with an infant. I'm positive I was more scared than he was. My co-worker was in court that day, too, and she repeatedly asked if I would be okay, while the baby slept merrily on.

Where I live, if you're a caseworker and you have an infant on your caseload, you need to visit that infant once a week. Until now, I only had one infant. By the end of the month, I'm going to have three. Please, kill me now.

I've been writing in my notebooks, and I even bought more notebooks as I've been slowly destroying my older ones. They get a lot of wear-and-tear, poor things. Unfortunately, by the time I get home, I tend to just want to curl up somewhere, so little has been typed. Sorry?

On a happier note, my travel mileage for February is going to be awesome...except I need time to sit down and get everything typed and ready to turn in for it. *facepalm*
