So it's confirmed: I'm on-call from 4-12 this weekend. It's my own fault, as I volunteered, being one of the few people without actual Giftmas plans. Still, it was a mess how it came about:
1) Notified I work 12/24 and 12/28. 12/28? Wha?
2) Notified that I don't work 12/28, I work 12/24 and 12/25. Okay.
3) Schedule comes out for December on-call. 12/24 and 12/25 weekend is not on it.
4) Send email to scheduler.
5) Receive a nasty email back that doesn't even answer my question.
6) Send another email.
7) Never receive a response.
8) Call today and have it confirmed. ...yay.
So I'm going to take Angel to the pet store and then curl up with a drink (alas, non-alcoholic) and a book and chill. If I get called, well, I might make enough to balance out what I spent today on Giftmas pressies. In my defense, my nephew is also about to turn 18. Yeesh.
