Link and Zelda are related (which I think is hinted in OoT?).

Any Rinoa/Squall hook-up is Rinoa's magic unwittingly at work, probably due to the Knight thing.

Tifa had a crush on Aeris but was so deeply in the bi-closet even she didn't know it.

John Marcone has a crush on Harry Dresden.

And that's all I can think of right now. If you disagree with any of the above, that's perfectly fine. This is just my internal canon. :)

Every now and then I diverge from my head canon for playing purposes, but it's usually stuck at the back of my mind. :) As it's (usually) happier than canon, it's all good.

I am replaying OoT, and I have figured out that Link might have been in with the Kokiri more than seven years. The Deku Sprout seems to hint that it was a long time ago that Link's mother entered the forest, perhaps as long as fifty to a hundred years. Which might make sense, as the Kokiri never grow up. As long as Link was in the forest, he would remain a child, and as soon as he left, he'd begin growing up again. So it's possible he and Zelda could be related, at least from the same family. Or, he could be the child of a previous ruler.Either way, it makes things more interesting.
Everything else you wrote? Yes x 100. Especially Cloud. Total bamf, but didn't ever realize it.

I was never sure if Link's aging stopped or if he was raised normally in the forest or how the hell it worked. Bah.

Marcone really does treat Harry different than just about anyone else. Still has to make the right motions re:intimidation and seemingly cutting him loose.

Someone should parallel this with that ep of Happy Days where Fonz is angsting about the need to punch Richie even though he'd demoted his girl before Richie actually kissed her.

Props if Harry catches on.

He lets Harry get away with an insane amount. And his idea of trying to change Harry's behavior? Not threats but treating him like a prince. Huh...

Oh, that pony show at EP? That was part to piss Harry off, and to remind the girls that Harry's a VIP regardless of how he looks.

Marcone has to be sure he own people don't set Harry up (believing he's a troublemaker well rid of), that other operations don't pick him off (little jab at John and the Outfit) and that the cops don't have much to stand on. Oh, and keep Harry in play.

I think he knows Harry's got at least one foot in a grave of despair. When there's that ruckus outside EP, John's sizing up where on the board Harry is.

Of course, all of this looks like Marcone's crazy to dumb criminals, and crazy like a mastermind fox to the smarter heads in the business.

I wonder what syllabus Hendricks has come up with over the years for Marcone. Machiavelli and Shakespeare are givemes. Probably sent Marcone to see Greek Tragedies rather than get him to read them. (John's read them after figuring out Hendricks doesn't hate him enough to send him to different productions without a good reason.)

I think Marcone succeeds based on two things:one, he's physically damn fine at just about anything (though I still am a bit confounded at the description choice about his knife throw from the Houdini scene) and he is a good judge of people's handles and their psyches.

I know, he seems to hamfist with Harry. I think sometimes that's him playing 'fair' and yet also getting Harry doing what he wants. If he was subtle, Harry would figure it eventually and not just have a hissy fit but react as he does to serious threats. If Harry doesn't get it when John uses intimidation, well, can he really blame anyone but himself?

Any thoughts about Even Hand? It seems a little, off compared to the rest of Canon.

I'll have to reread it. I want to reread all of the books soon, anyway.

Zack is now Turks. So deep undercover that the current Turks aren't even sure where exactly he is. Except for Tseng cos Tseng knows all.

Squall...yeah, anything he has going on with Rinoa is all her magic. Including that smile. Unless maybe he was smiling at the thought of dropping her off the balcony after kissing her as distraction tactics.

I love bamf!Cloud. How can he grow up around so much natural Lifestream and not be bamf!?

Admit it: that smile was the creepiest part of the game. *shivers*

I believe it is canon that pre-experimented!Cloud saved Soldier!Zack on multiple occasions. No sword, just a gun. I'm going to have to look for actual canon details, but I'm pretty sure there are several to back me up. :D
